With my birthday coming up at the end of the month, I have come to realize that most of my 20s have come and gone already. At 28, I have already made most of my 8 years in my 20s count, but I thought I would share how to make every year count as us millennials continue to figure out what to do with our lives. With our overwhelming schedules, our generation sometimes tends to lose direction and become confused what to do in their 20s. However, there are some decisions you do need to make in your 20s if you want to thrive and accomplish your goals. I hope you get inspired by reading some of my tips on how to make your 20s count!
Success is one of those things that everyone desires in most parts of their professional and personal lives. Some people crave success and try everything to reach it by a certain age. I know I have be fighting my biological clock every year to make sure I tick certain items of my “life todo list” before I hit a certain age, and I am pretty sure most people I know are guilty of the same. But sometimes plans don’t always go according to plan. How many of us stayed an extra year in college or as 5 years post college and still trying to figure out what we are trying to accomplish? It’s not an uncommon this and you shouldn’t be ashamed of it, but you can definitely learn from it and from others experiences.
I am turning 28 this week and my 30th birthday is a little too close for comfort and I am really feeling the pressure to become successful, can you relate? Calm down. I promise you have not let yourself down yet. So maybe you’re not where you thought you would be. That crazy social rule that says you have to have it all together at a young age is just a myth, so breathe, you are doing GREAT!
I am no expert and I certainly don’t have it all figured out, but by the ripe age of 28 I have 1 tips that you should follow if you want to make your 20s count…Celebrate all that brings you happiness – You have worked hard all your life until now, celebrate that. Think about all your hard work, your accomplishments, your strength and resilience to keep fighting for your dreams and not allowing anything to hold you back. Success is complex and goals are always changing, but remember in this moment you are already successful!
