A sunny Sunday in London is a perfect excuse to treat yourself to some Belgian Chocolate covered from ChocoFruit at Southbank Center in London. I stopped by this pop-up dessert shop a few weekends ago and it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I stopped by the ChocoFruit stand at Southbank center with my sister and it was a great experience to get to pick which fruit skewer I would like and then they were topped off with 3 different types of chocolate and 3 different types of toppings.
I must admit it wasn’t easy to find this pop-up dessert stall, but it was well worth the search. Customers can choose from a number of different Belgian chocolate and different toppings. First, you pick which type of fruit skewer you would like. I got a strawberry and pineapple skewer as well as a strawberry and banana skewer. The fruit was super fresh and delicious, but wait it gets even better! Next, you can choose either milk, white or dark chocolate at first to cover your fruit skewer. All the chocolates are gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians. I was told that the dark chocolate is dairy free as well. Finally, you then decide which fun toppings you would like on top of your chocolate covered fruit skewer. They have chopped nuts, marshmallows, and other sweet treats.
Aside from the deliciously fresh fruit and the finger licking good chocolate, the service was top notch. Chocofruit really takes street food to a whole new level. The owner, David, is very kind and informative. He is always there to greet you with a warm smile and loves to see his customers happy. His goal is to create divine chocolate covered fruit dessert that can be enjoyed on the streets of London.
These chocolate covered fruit skewers can actually be quite a healthy treat if you opt for fruit covered in only dark chocolate and nuts, but what is the fun in that? Life is all about balance and on Sundays calories don’t count. I personally got all three chocolates covered all over my two skewers and I had to try all the different toppings as well. Whether you are going to indulge in some chocolate goodness or if you are looking for a healthy snack, ChocoFruit has both options.
I love seeing and visiting street food vendors in London who are trying to elevate the meaning of street food and really putting a fresh new taste onto the consumer market. Aside from being located at Southbank center from Friday – Sunday, ChocoFruit is also located on Brick Lane Up Market on Sundays. The also are available for private and corporate hire, so if you are every looking for a way to sweeten up your event, make sure you contact David to have delicious chocolate covered fruit at your next event.
