If you’re a fan of organization and love to add a personal touch to your kitchen, creating your own DIY IKEA spice rack is the perfect project for you. With just a few simple materials and some creativity, you can transform your spice collection into a stylish and functional display.
IKEA offers a wide range of affordable glass jars that are perfect for your DIY IKEA Spice Rack. By adding your own labels and personalizing them to match your kitchen decor, you can create a cohesive and visually appealing spice collection.
To start, gather your supplies – IKEA glass jars, label stickers or printable labels, markers or paint pens, and any additional embellishments such as ribbon or twine. Remove the existing labels from the jars and clean them thoroughly.
I’m going to share a few hacks and ideas to organize your kitchen and make your own DIY IKEA Spice Rack. I previously used the IKEA 365+ Gruntal magnetic spice jars, which I labeled and had stuck in my pantry, but I have gone for using glass jars this time as they are a little easier to dispense and they fit nicely in my spice cupboard. These jars would also look great all lined up in a spice rack.

As I often buy my spices in bulk, I store the larger bulk bags away and refill these spice jars when they run low. Buying my spices in larger quantities is much cheaper than the small amounts you get in the supermarkets. I will often store my herbs and spices in zip-lock bags or airtight containers to keep them fresh. Each Jar is labelled with my Dymo Label Maker which complements the look of my spice storage and looks great in my kitchen.
Once all the jars are labeled and decorated to your liking, it’s time to fill them with spices. Transfer each spice into its designated jar using a small funnel if needed. Make sure to secure the lids tightly to keep the spices fresh.
Finally, arrange your DIY IKEA spice jars in a convenient location in your kitchen – whether it’s on a shelf, countertop rack, or inside a drawer organizer. Not only will they make cooking more efficient by keeping all your spices neatly organized but they will also serve as an eye-catching display piece in your culinary space.
