Pasta always get a bad reputation because it is heavy and has too many carbs. Which is a sad thing because carbs and pasta as my favorite foods. Luckily I discovered a restaurant that makes pasta feel light. Last week I had the pleasure of dinning at Leggero, a 100% gluten free restaurant in Soho, London. Their menu is authentic Italian food but with an innovative twist.

Leggero means “light” and their aim is to make their recipes fit for every dietary requirement. Most of their dishes are vegan and vegetarian friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is always buzzing! Their chefs like to mix different types fo ingredients to give you a twist on a traditional Italian dish. They still taste like the delicious Italian dishes that you expect to get but they are lighter and healthier. I especially love that they cook with less processed foods. Their pasta is made in house and their ingredients are farm fresh. You can taste the difference in every bite. Not only are they using the truest of Italian ingredients, they are also sticking to wholesome and organic flours to make their pasta by hand.

All of their pasta is made by their hands and their pasta mix is made to create a balance between carbs, protein and fibers to make it easier for your stomach to digest and doesn’t give you the heavy feeling in your stomach after eating a bowl of pasta.

Here are the dishes I tried out:

Lightly Fried croquetas

I didn’t try their wines, but I appreciated that on the menu they advised as to which wines they would recommend to pair with their dishes. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that has a gluten intolerance or is anyone looking for a healthier pasta option for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is a bit small and I would recommend this place for date night or dinner with a few friends. It would be hard to seat large parties.
