While in Lugano, Switzerland I decided to try one of the most daring things I have ever done – paragliding! I have never done anything like it before, but after hearing about how much fun it was from my sister and my mom I had to try it out for myself. Let me be honest right away, you quite literally run off a mountain and hope to fly. It is not for anyone that is afraid of heights or the sensation of free falling. As it was my first time flying I decided to fly with FlyTicino. The pilot, Federico Soldati, is a friend of mine and he was kind enough to take us up Monte Tamaro in Ticino. It was a beautiful and sunny August afternoon and honestly, it was an unforgettable experience. I am so grateful that my first time paragliding was with FlyTicino.
I flew with Stefano Genazzini. He was extremely professional and spoke English very well. Although we had a bit of a rocky start on our first attempt because of the change in winds, he completely catered to my wishes and made sure I felt safe the entire time, If you want a gentle ride, they will do them, but if you want a bit of an adventure where you scream your head off, they will happily oblige. I brought my own GoPro with me and got some amazing shots above the Alps, but if you do not have your own GoPro they have their own equipment and I highly recommend buying the footage as it is priceless to capture those moments.
I tried paragliding with FlyTicino because it has been on my bucket list for ages. It’s not something that you can experience every day, but it is definitely something you should try once in your life. My heart was in my throat for most of the flight because you are literally flying and there is very little keeping you in the air. You feel like a bird that is free falling. Paragliding in Lugano was amazing. I am so grateful to the FlyTicino team for making my first time paragliding such an unforgettable experience. Both Stefano and Federico are incredible guides, very knowledgeable and have a serious passion for flying. If you are ever in Lugano you have to check them out!
