Chicken, Chicken, Chicken. I love chicken, but I especially love fried chicken. No one speaks Chicken like Chicken Society does. Their mission is simple; get back to the basics of great chicken. Last week I was invited to a foodie influencer event at Chicken Society in Finchley Central.
First of all, Chicken society is just across the road from Finchley Central station, which was very handy as I had never been to this part of London before, but it was super easy to find and really quick to get to off the Northern line. From the outside, the place looks very spacious and vibrant, there was also a nice outdoor seating area which I am sure attracts a crowd in the summer months.
Chicken Society takes the locally certified chicken and marinades them for 24 hours in their secret sauce. They then roast them to perfection and each bite has a kick and is perfectly juicy. Served alongside sides of slaw, mac, and cheese and spiralized fried courgette, what’s not to love?! I know the name says Chicken Society, but just in case you are a vegan or vegetarian they also have a vegan burger and plenty of vegan/vegetarian side dishes.
Let’s talk about the chicken. When you cut through the crispy skin and into the chicken breast, you can smell the lemon and paprika right away. Each cut of chicken is perfectly juicy and tender and the first bite was incredible. The kick of paprika has a slow burn in your mouth but ultimately you get to tase the juicy chicken breast with smokey, tangy, and slightly zesty flavors. Each bite will really satisfy your soul, I guess that is why it is called soul food, right? The fried chicken was great, but my favorite dish of the night had to be the boneless fried chicken covered in their homemade Korean BBQ sauce. It was finger licking good, and yes I did lick my fingers after eating every last bite of them!
In terms of drinks, there’s a nice range of cocktails, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available. They also had milkshakes and smoothies as well. My favorite cocktail was the society gorgeous which had a mix of dark and gold rum, orange liqueur, passionfruit and lime, all topped off with some ginger ale. The apple dog was pretty cool and a new drink on their menu, but whiskey isn’t my favorite so I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I did the other drinks. Oh and don’t forget their creamy milkshakes, the best one had to have been the Oreo milkshake with chunks of actual Oreos in the shake!
I also had just enough room for dessert which I recommend the Society Sundays. All three were delicious and yes I did eat 3 desserts because there is always room for dessert! My favorite one was called ‘The Nutty One’ which had pistachio ice cream, honeycomb, mini marshmallows, caramel sauce, and whipped cream!
Overall I had such an amazing time at Chicken Society and thanks to @ADWAIZ for hosting yet another amazing influencer event! The food alone is enough reason for me to visit again, but furthermore, the amazing atmosphere and customer service definitely enchanted my overall first-time experience!
