While in New York city I had the pleasure of staying right in midtown at the Hotel Event in Herald Square. This hotel is in the heart of Chelsea, New York and is honestly in such a great location for when you are visiting New York for either business or pleasure. I stayed at the Hotel Eventi back in November 2016. My family and I stayed there for a week and aside from its great location, the amenities the hotel offered were great as well. The Hotel Eventi is a part of the Kimpton chain of hotels. This hotel really has everything you can think of and as I mentioned before it is a perfect place to stay if you are on vacation or if you are in New York City for a quick business trip.

The hotel has an outdoor plaza and a 5th-floor balcony with views of the Empire State Building and 6th avenue. Plus it’s the little things that add up when staying at a boutique hotel. They offer complimentary cruiser bikes and paraben-free bath products. If you forget anything, don’t worry they’ve got it. This hotel makes it easy to enjoy your stay. I especially found the business bar interesting. I personally did not use it, but just in case you forgot your laptop, charger, headphones, or even GoPro camera, you can simply check it out from the front desk.

Aside from the amazing outdoor veranda/balcony that looks out to the empire state building. There is also a fitness center and the hotel is pet-friendly as well. The hotel also has free tea, coffee, and water in the morning as well as a wine reception in the evenings. Oh, let’s not forget they also have a top notch spa as well. I didn’t get a chance to visit it, but I can only imagine it would be a great little retreat from the hustle and bustle of New York City streets.

The rooms are very spacious for New York City. I had a king sized bed and floor to ceiling windows that brought in ample light every morning. The bed was luxurious and comfy and the rain shower was so awesome! The rooms are beautiful and offer great amenities. Not to mention they were impeccably cleaned. As for the hotel, it’s is really located in the heart of Manhattan. It is walking distance to Time and Head Square as well as Penn Station (I have listed all the nearby places below). I recommend trying any of the three restaurants adjacent to the lobby. My favorite is L’Amico, but beware of their cocktails, they have a delayed effect and I definitely felt the tequila in my margarita hours later. If you can, try to get a room on one of the higher floors. I stayed on the 14th floor and had a great view, but you might get lucky and get a view of the empire state building from your bedroom or a killer view of the city skyline. If you have ever stayed at a Kimpton hotel or if this will be your first time, you will not be disappointed.
