Skin Health Spa was nice enough to invite me to their London Marylebone clinic last week to try out some of their treatments. This was a perfect post-winter treat. With the spring just around the corner, it was nice to give my skin a boost and a facial. My visit to their clinic left me feeling relaxed and inspired me to take better care of my skin.
The clinic itself offers a number of beauty treatments including skin rejuvenating laser treatments, anti-aging and wrinkle reduction, treatments for skin damage, acne scarring, wrinkle reduction, derma roller facials, massages, and much, much more! Skin Health Spa
has a number of locations around the UK and their care of their clients and knowledge on the skin is unparalleled to other London clinics.
What Is Microdermabrasion & Glycolic Peel?
I have heard the word Microdermabrasion in the beauty industry for a number of years now. It has been a buzzword with anyone with spots or marks on their skin and the facial claims to help lighten, heel and ultimately reduce dark spots and pigmentation from your skin. It is the number one recommended facial for anyone that has suffered from acne or scaring on their skin. At first, I was a bit skeptical to think that a machine would remove my marks from my spots and acne. This treatment polishes the skin and speeds up skin renewal through the removal of dead skin cells. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to see any outstanding benefits, but after having my treatment I can say that this treatment defiantly leaves your skin feeling refreshed and cleansed to a whole new level!
At first, I was a bit nervous as this was my first time in a London spa and when I booked my appointment I was told I would go through a consultation and then receive my treatment afterward. After speaking to my wonderful therapist all my nerves were at ease. I was given a detailed run through of all the treatments that would best benefit me and my skin. My therapist was highly knowledgeable and explained every step of the way. She made sure that all the products being used on my face were right for my skin type and explained any sort of side effects I might experience.
I started with microdermabrasion to help rejuvenate my skin and remove red skin cells from my face. I told my therapist that I was looking to lighten the hyperpigmentation on my face from leftover acne scars. This treatment was recommended to me because it polishes the skin and speeds up skin renewal through the removal of dead skin cells. The treatment felt like a vacuum on my skin and was very painless.
After the microdermabrasion, my therapist applied a glycolic peel. The glycolic acid is used to soften up my dead skin cells and lift more of the hyperpigmentation off from my acne scars. I was told that there would be a bit of stinging from the peel due to my skin being sensitive after the microdermabrasion treatment. I have to admit there was a bit of a sting, but my therapist made sure to watch my skin the entire time and not leave the peel on for too long. She reassured me that she would take it off if she saw my skin react badly towards it. Which in the end the peel stopped stinging right after it was applied.
My skincare routine is very well routine. There is nothing that special about it, but I do look after it. After going to the Skin Health Spa I felt like I was so much more knowledgeable about my skin and what I have to do to look after it. Even with the right skin care regime we still need to take extra steps to get our skin to the glowing and supple state we would like. Skin Health Spa said I would see a difference with one treatment, but I would need to come back for repeat visits to make sure I see long-term benefits.
My first visit to the clinic was lovely from the booking my appointment to the finish. The staff took amazing care of me and with Skin Health Spa just around the corner from Bond Street, why not treat yourself? All in all, I had an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go back!
