There is something unique about drinking from the top of New York City that just can’t be replicated elsewhere. Last month I was in New York city for my best friends bachelorette weekend and we decided we had to end the weekend on a top note so we decided to have cocktails from the highest outdoor terrace bar in New York City. Bar SixtyFive in New York City welcomes it guests at 65 stories above the ground and while on top of the iconic Rockefeller center you can see sweeping views of NYC with a lovely cocktail in your hands. Bar SixtyFive offers a wide selection of cocktails and a killer view, what more can a girl ask for?
Bar SixtyFive can be described as efficient – we were seated, given a chance to look over the menus, and served as promptly as can be. The ambiance itself was calm, something hard to find in the NYC life. The drinks were mixed perfectly and the guests included anyone from business professionals to couples enjoying a night on the town.
I was so excited to visit this bar and planned our whole night around it. Fair warning cocktails here start at $20 a piece, but they were amazing and the view is completely worth it. I have been to this bar twice. They first time I visited we didn’t make a reservation and we stood around the standing tables on a very busy Friday evening. This last time since we were there for a special event I decided to make a reservation and also parties larger than 5 have to make a reservation.
Overall, I think the bar is something you have to try at least once while in New York City as it gives a unique vantage point from which to see the city. The drinks were reasonably priced and the ambiance lent a hint of opulence without being garish. I would return to the bar as an after-work spot or perhaps a special night on the town.
