Happy 4th Birthday to Zizi, my little princess. This little puppy has brought me so much laughter and joy over the last 4 years. She has also been through so much with me. She has moved to 2 different countries and 3 different cities with me. Not to mention she has traveled across a few continents and countries with me as well. She may look tiny, which she is, but she is one tough little pup and she brings a smile to my face every single day. Everyone that has ever met Zizi will say the same, she is super social, loves cuddles, and playing with her favorite toy, the dice. So on her special day, I decided to make her puppy cupcakes

Today is her 4th birthday. I am not much of a baker but I wanted give Zizi a lovely little treat. I did some googling and found a great little recipe for puppy cupcakes. These puppy cupcakes were made exclusively for Zizi, but they can be consumed by humans as well. The recipe I found made 8, which is still a lot for her. They should keep in an airtight container and she will be enjoying them for the next week or so. I wanted to make sure these cupcakes were relatively healthy and came up with the recipe below.

Dog friendly cupcakes (human safe)
Equipment
- Cupcake tin
- Paper cupcake cases
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- ¼ cup peanut butter
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg
- ⅕ cup peanut butter for the topping
Instructions
Making The Dog Friendly Cupcakes
- Start by preheat the oven to 170 degrees celsius
- Line the cupcake tins with paper cases
- Mix all the ingredients listed above in a bowl (except for the ⅕ cup of peanut butter) until it makes a coarse batter
- Distribute the batter evenly into the cupcake cases
- Bake for 15 minutes or until they start turning golden brown
- Leave them on a wire rack to cool
- Ice the cooled cupcakes with the remaining peanut butter
- Enjoy!
