Today I want to talk about how to be a #GirlBoss. I want to share an outfit that what I wear to work. I currently work at a tech startup and I can usually wear whatever I would like to work, but on occasion I like to be a #GirlBoss and get a bit dressed up, especially when I have client meetings. Since I have extremely short legs I tend not to wear pant suits to work. I like to wear dresses and skirts because they tend to compliment my body type and make me feel more confident in the board room. I really try to make sure I compliment my body type when dressing professionally. I find that your professional appearance makes a huge difference on how your colleagues and business partners treat you. When you dress for success you naturally strive to be and become more successful.
I am all for women feeling empowered in the corporate world and I think fashion can be an easy way to feel more in control when you are presenting to the board or meeting with a client. There is a percentage of women that feel intimidated in work settings and I just want to tell you all to hold you head up high and be the #GirlBoss that you are. I would like all my ladies out there to never be afraid to reach for the sky professionally and keep striving to create equality for women in the workforce. I think fashion and the board room do not have to be boring. I love changing up my dresses and skirts to be professional, but I still remind myself that I am only 27 and I don’t have to look old when dressing professionally.
