Life is always about balance. I workout so I can continue to eat sweet and delicious things like cronuts from Harrods Food Halls. I also think that sometimes you do have to splurge on what is important, and to me, food is very important. Harrods Food Halls is the most decadent food shop in London. It’s not somewhere I shop every weekend, but every once in a while I like to splurge on a cake or chocolate fudge or their infamous cronuts! Yes, it’s pricey, yes it’s crowded, but the food is spectacular and a must try for anyone visiting or living in London.
The first time I went to Harrods was of course for the shopping (mainly window shopping), but this department store has every designer worth mentioning within its walls. I never even knew about the food halls at first. Harrods Food Hall should be renamed Food Heaven! There are so many options that it is hard to limit yourself, the one limit, of course, is the price. As I mentioned before this place is not cheap, but well worth it. This food hall has everything from caviar to teas to the most decadent display of desserts. Not only do the pastries look spectacular they have a taste to match!
One could spend the entire day at Harrods Food Halls. Just walking through this store is an experience itself. Harrods is a beautiful store filled with luxury goods and the food hall matches their ascetic. I have tried a few restaurants and some of the savory food from the Food Hall, but I have to admit that their gorgeous bakery department takes the cake (pun intended). Most of the food hall has a “to go” set up and you cannot eat any items bought in the bakeries in the store, but there are a few stations to have to sit down meals if that is what you are looking for.
You should not miss visiting Harrods when you come to London. I enjoyed Harrods Food Halls more than the mall and I’m a shopper by nature. Have you been before? What is your favorite food from Harrods Food Halls?
